THE CHALLENGE

Healthcare is too expensive, mental health services are too limited, addiction support is insufficient, and people shouldn't have to choose between health and financial stability.

MY APPROACH

Expand healthcare access - Work toward ensuring everyone has affordable, quality healthcare regardless of employment or immigration status, reduce costs and insurance complexity, close remaining coverage gaps, make healthcare accessible to all

Make medications affordable while supporting innovation - Increase transparency in drug pricing, address price gouging on older medications, reform pharmacy benefit manager practices, ensure affordable access to necessary medications, while defending the research funding and innovation ecosystem that develops breakthrough therapies

Defend life sciences research and innovation - Oppose federal cuts to NIH funding that threaten breakthrough research, support Massachusetts' life sciences leadership and the innovation ecosystem, protect research funding for rare and degenerative diseases, ensure life sciences jobs and economic benefits remain in Massachusetts

Address surprise billing and medical bankruptcy - Support transparency in healthcare pricing, protect patients from surprise medical bills, ensure families don't face financial ruin from medical emergencies

Expand mental health access - Increase availability of mental health providers, reduce wait times, expand insurance coverage, support school-based mental health services, ensure parity between mental and physical health

Address youth mental health crisis - Expand services for children and adolescents, support families navigating mental health challenges, increase school counselors and supports, reduce stigma and barriers to care

Support addiction treatment and harm reduction - Expand access to treatment, support harm reduction approaches, ensure Narcan availability, address root causes of addiction, support people in recovery

Protect reproductive rights - Defend access to abortion and reproductive healthcare, support providers, ensure Massachusetts remains haven for reproductive justice

Support healthcare workforce - Address provider shortages, support training pathways, ensure competitive compensation, reduce administrative burden that drives burnout
