THE CHALLENGE

Every child deserves excellent education, but funding formulas don't reflect reality. Students with diverse learning needs don't always get appropriate support. College has become unaffordable. Pathways to careers aren't clear. Young people need opportunity, not just rhetoric. These investments require fiscal discipline and smart implementation. I'll fight for education funding while ensuring every dollar is spent effectively.
MY APPROACH
Fully fund public education - Ensure we meet our commitment to fully implement the Student Opportunity Act, address funding gaps, ensure schools have resources they need, support educators with competitive salaries and professional development

Support students with diverse learning needs - Expand special education funding, ensure appropriate services and supports, reduce wait times for evaluations, train educators in evidence-based approaches
Make higher education affordable and accessible - Expand financial aid (build on MassGrant Plus success), create debt-free pathways, support community colleges, ensure public higher education serves its mission
Create clear pathways from education to careers - Connect high schools to community colleges to four-year institutions, build apprenticeship programs, support career technical education, ensure training leads to employment
Invest in early education - Work toward expanding access to affordable quality pre-K for working families, support childcare providers with fair wages, recognize early education as foundation for everything that follows
Support youth mental health - Expand school-based mental health services, increase access to care, address youth substance abuse, create supportive environments where young people can thrive
Keep schools safe, healthy, and climate-ready - Support building improvements, accelerate school electrification and net-zero transitions, ensure safe and healthy learning environments
