Massachusetts is ranked number one in the country, yet too many families can't afford to stay, young people can't get started, and Beacon Hill keeps recycling the same problems. Tom's priorities are grounded in what residents of the Second Middlesex actually need: affordable places to live, good jobs, safe and welcoming communities, and a state government transparent and accountable enough to deliver. He's spent his career building things that work outside of Beacon Hill. He's running to bring that same approach inside it.
PRIORITIES:
Fighting for Good Jobs, Affordable Communities, and a Massachusetts That Works for Everyone

AFFORDABILITY & HOUSING:
Making it possible for families to build lives in the communities they love

Housing costs are pushing out teachers, nurses, first responders, and young families. Tom will fight to increase housing production across all income levels, protect tenants from displacement and unfair rent increases, support first-time homebuyers and seniors aging in place, and ensure communities remain economically diverse & welcoming to all.

JOBS & ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY:
Creating pathways to good jobs that pay enough to live here
Massachusetts needs good jobs in clean energy, tech innovation, skilled trades, and service industries - with pathways for everyone to participate. Tom will fight to ensure our economy is creating opportunity for all residents, defend against federal interference that threatens our economic foundation, and build workforce systems that connect people to careers.

SUPPORTING IMMIGRANTS:
Protecting families and defending our values
as a welcoming commonwealth
Tom's grandfather was an immigrant who worked as a janitor while building a life for his family. Tom grew up helping his parents resettle refugee families. He knows immigrants strengthen our communities and drive our economy. He'll defend immigrant families from federal overreach, ensure access to services regardless of status, and champion pathways to citizenship.

GOVERNANCE & TRANSPARENCY:
Opening up Beacon Hill: transparency, accountability, and a legislature that actually works for you
Massachusetts has a transparency problem. Too many decisions get made behind closed doors. Too much power is concentrated in legislative leadership. Rank-and-file lawmakers have too little autonomy to represent their constituents, and the public has too few ways to meaningfully participate in the process. That's not how democracy is supposed to work, and it helps explain why good ideas stall and real problems go unsolved. Tom will fight for open committee votes, stronger public participation, and a Beacon Hill culture that treats constituents as partners, not afterthoughts.

CLIMATE & ENVIRONMENT:
Leading on climate action while creating jobs
and resilient communities
Tom will stand firm on Massachusetts' climate commitments even as federal leaders interfere, accelerate local solutions like clean energy and public transit, protect our environment, and ensure climate action creates good jobs and affordable clean energy. Climate leadership isn't just policy - it's economic opportunity and community resilience.

EDUCATION & YOUTH:
Ensuring every child gets an excellent education
and equitable pathways to opportunity
Every child deserves excellent public schools with well-supported teachers, modern facilities, and resources that meet diverse learning needs. Tom will fight to fully fund Chapter 70, expand vocational-technical education and pre-K access, support students with disabilities and English learners, and create pathways from high school to careers and college.

HEALTHCARE & MENTAL HEALTH:
Making quality healthcare accessible
and affordable for everyone

Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Tom will work to ensure everyone has affordable quality healthcare, expand mental health services especially for youth, reduce prescription drug costs, support medical innovation, defend reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ healthcare access, and support our life sciences research ecosystem in the wake of federal cuts.

JUSTICE & EQUITY:
Building communities where everyone is safe, respected, and treated fairly

Tom will fight for criminal justice reform that emphasizes rehabilitation over incarceration, protect voting rights and strengthen democracy, advance racial and economic justice in education and housing, support LGBTQ+ rights and protections, and ensure public safety approaches that build trust and keep all community members safe.
