Campaign Manager
Tom Hopcroft for State Senate is seeking a Campaign Manager to lead our effort to win the Second Middlesex District in the 2026 Democratic primary. This is an exciting opportunity to help elect a candidate with a rare combination of policy credentials and outsider perspective — someone who has spent decades building coalitions across business, government, and community to drive real change.
As the key leader on the campaign team, the Campaign Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and driving successful execution of the campaign plan across a competitive district that spans Somerville, Medford, and parts of Cambridge and Winchester. With a geographically diverse district, our path to victory depends on building deep, authentic support across multiple distinct communities -- and the Campaign Manager will be central to making that happen.

Compensation: Monthly salary commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, intensive position running at least through the September 2026 primary, with the potential to extend through the general election.
Qualifications:

-
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail;
-
Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline;
-
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
-
Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to work independently;
-
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people across communities;
-
Experience with political campaigns, in a paid or volunteer capacity, strongly preferred;
-
Familiarity with the Second Middlesex District or Greater Boston area a plus;
-
Experience with NGP VAN VoteBuilder and ActBlue preferred;
-
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment -- this is a demanding 5-6 month sprint.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-
Campaign Plan: Develop and execute a winning campaign plan covering all activities through Election Day, including field operations, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, media relations, and district outreach.
-
Candidate Management: Manage the candidate's schedule, ensuring time is allocated for canvassing, fundraising calls, endorsement interviews, and community events. Keep the candidate prepared, on schedule, and focused.
-
Fundraising: Develop and implement a fundraising plan that includes candidate call time, donor outreach, events, and digital solicitations. Staff the candidate during fundraising activities and track progress toward goals.
-
Volunteer Recruitment and Management: Recruit, train, and manage campaign volunteers using the candidate's personal network, local Democratic committees, and community connections. Assign tasks and maintain volunteer engagement across the campaign cycle.
-
Field Operations: Design and implement a field plan that meets ambitious voter contact goals through canvassing, phone banking, and direct voter outreach across Somerville, Medford, Cambridge, and Winchester.
-
Communications: Serve as the campaign's primary media contact. Coordinate press releases, prepare the candidate for media opportunities, and manage the campaign's social media platforms and website in coordination with the campaign's communications team.
-
Finance Compliance: Work with the campaign Treasurer to maintain accurate records of contributions and expenditures, and assist with timely OCPF report filings.
